Monday, September 19 Week 3

We start the day leisurely. A bit of office work (the homepage still needs to be published), a bit of housework, a bit of "napping".

By midday we are ready and ride our e-bikes towards Roses.

Of course we don't miss the opportunity to take a look at the parking space and the Camping Salatà in Roses - man, they are both full! There are also lots of people strolling along the promenade. We treat ourselves to lunch in one of the many restaurants before we head back.

In Empuriabrava you can have a scoop of ice cream for dessert.

On the way back we splash around a bit in the pool as it is less windy here than at the sea.

It's almost like a beach holiday -;)

A lazy day, a beach day with lunch in Empuriabrava.

Wednesday, September 21st

The places by the sea are very full! It's just amazing how many motorhomes are on the road. Two days ago, a motorhome driver we were chatting to told us that he regretted buying a new motorhome three years ago. It's just no fun anymore.

There are moments when we can only agree with him.

Thursday, September 22

The parking space in Gruissan was COMPLETELY full until the evening, which simply means full, full, full!!!

We've been here at all times of the year, but we've never experienced anything like this!

At the moment we doubt whether Gruissan will see us again.

We decide to drive inland again and drive to another parking spot that we marked with a star. But first we fill up in Narbonne for a whopping 1.55 euros - that's fun.

Then we take a beautiful drive off the motorway to Béziers and through the vineyards northwards to Lamalou-les-Bains (I like the place name).

The site belongs to the Camping-Car-Park chain and the good thing about it is that you can see in the app how many free spaces are still available. We like it here.

Later, we explore the surrounding area, Lamalou-les-Bains and the neighboring town of Hérépian, with our e-bikes.

In the end it was only 15 kilometers but it was nice.

Only this morning did we discover the Voie Verte cycle route - we definitely have to come back again. Today it is too foggy and too cold for us to cycle part of this route. So we set off and stop again at the Hyper Intermarché in Hérépian. We cycle back towards the sea on a scenic route.

The parking spot just before Mèze is very popular. However, when we arrive shortly after 1 p.m. we still have some choice.

Now we're going to prepare a delicious salad. But then we're going to unload the e-bikes and explore Mèzes and the surrounding area. The sunshine is limited today.

Back at the parking space, a space at the edge has actually become free. Nobody wants to go to the trouble of moving. We don't have to think about it for a second - this is our new place and moving is so quick! We are happy because we are no longer trapped and have a clear view of nature on the living room door side.

We start up our grill, enjoy a fine drink and our beautiful spot.

We land in the Camarque. For once not in Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer but in

Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. But both are very long place names.

On the way we see the plane that almost landed in the lake at dawn today. 20 minutes later and the view reported it.

Our parking spot today is at a leisure harbor. We're not completely convinced by the place, but we're giving it a chance. We ride our e-bikes into town to the Intermarché - neither of which really convinces us. Everything looks a bit run down.

Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer is definitely prettier, but also more touristy.

After shopping, we continue our bike tour and end up at Plage Napoleon.

We like it better here and so we have a nice end to our little tour of 24 kilometers.
