High fog and very humid air greet us today. La Coruna really attracts the fog. We decide to head east and just ignore the coast. First, however, we do a little shopping at a Mercadona and then we head east on the A6 and A8.
Cabo Busto is our first destination and possibly also our final destination. Our guess is spot on. Cabo Busto is too uninteresting to attract many people. The lighthouse at Cabo Busto is small and inconspicuous. Only one of the various beaches is accessible to people at all and this is best done with a 4x4 vehicle or, even better, on foot. We stop at the picnic parking lot just before the lighthouse. The very front corner is free.
After a small lunch we set off on a coastal walk. There are various very beautiful miradors on the route. We also walk down to the Praia. We haven't seen so few people on a Praia for a long time. There are also only two motorhomes at the front of the lighthouse at the moment. We stay here. Some people come for a picnic, the walking group from Busto starts a fitness session, two men meet for a chat and some just come to take a quick look at the misty view. The fog has come back here in the evening, but that doesn't bother us much.

OK, you can also experience high season at Cabo Busto. In the end, there were four of us on our spot. We were standing there in a nice size. After us was a van, then a small bus and finally a caravan with an additional tent. And up ahead on the picnic area by the cliffs a cyclist set up his tent. Right at the front by the lighthouse there were nine of them. But it was wonderfully quiet.
We have made our decision and are definitely leaving the coast. We are literally chugging along at a snail's pace through the interior. At first we are accompanied by the morning mist, which persists almost until midday.
Our lunch in Cangas del Narcea is a real hit and we even meet a really proud northern Spaniard who actually lives in Berneck but is on holiday here in his parents' homeland. We get a quick history lesson, a coffee and schnapps and lots of good wishes for the onward journey.
The landscapes are simply magnificent. We conquer several passes. On one of them there is even a small ski area with a huge car park. But the view isn't really there, so we move on a little further. We cross the Somiedo Nature Park, where you are unfortunately not allowed to spend the night. So we end up in San Martin on a municipal parking space, which is, as usual, very full until nightfall. San Martin is the third town on our tour today that we discover a little more on a walk. Each place is very special in its own way.
This is actually the starting point of the Via Verde de la Senda del Oso, one of the most impressive cycle routes in northern Spain. You cycle along the route of an old mine railway through narrow gorges. An impressive route, with many tunnels, but unfortunately the path is in pretty bad condition. What a pity. We will decide tomorrow what we will do next.

Another dream day with wonderful nature, magnificent views and interesting encounters. Let's just let the pictures speak for themselves.
We end the day at the Embalse de Riaño. Today we decide to camp a little above Riaño. It is very hot on the pitch down in the village and camping-like behavior is not allowed. So actually no chairs and no tables. Up here there is a light breeze and the view is lovely.
We don’t miss the opportunity and climb up to the Mirador later.

Heidi from Switzerland meets Jeidi from León!
This morning we climb up to the Miradors again for early morning exercise. The morning light is beautiful.
After breakfast we go to Riaño for some "bulk shopping". We are missing water and bread. It's amazing what you can buy in Olga's little shop. But it's also the only place to shop for miles around.
And then we explore the Picos by e-bike. OK, all jokes aside - it's only a tiny little spot in the Picos. But it's fun. It's not just the landscape that inspires us. The little village that we ride through fascinates us just as much.
And at the end there are some meters of altitude and
44 kilometers.
During our well-earned siesta, our stomachs begin to rumble. They haven't had anything since breakfast. So we start cooking. Salad, grilled meat and a piece of bread - and at an unusually early time, at 5:30 p.m.!
And now let’s enjoy a long, cozy evening.

River by night
Actually, you could say we are on our way home, because we are continuing to chug eastwards.
Every day we decide spontaneously which route we will take. Today is no different.
And today’s conclusion is once again very special.
We are thrilled by Orbaneja del Castillo and hopefully we will sleep peacefully in the parking lot.

And our daily spontaneously chosen route continues. But first we go back a few kilometers. A morning hike awaits us. We don't see quite what we were hoping for, but it was still fun. We stop often that day and admire the magnificent views or stroll through a little gem. We reach Frias around 2 p.m. and we stay here.
There's no chance of lunch. The few restaurants here are already hopelessly full. Even if there were a free table somewhere, that's not for us. Too many people in one place.
We enjoy the special atmosphere and later have a meal in our Pfüdi.
As usual, the parking space fills up by the evening, but we found a good spot.

According to the app, the parking space in Frias has a capacity of around 40 motorhomes if you park a little bit close together. Well, by the end there were at least 50 in all size categories. No, we haven't seen any liners for a long time. The Spanish, surprisingly many young people and families drive new motorhomes and buses, but no liners. Luckily, in our corner on the bend, it was simply not possible to park any closer.
When we wake up, we actually have drizzle again after a few weeks and the clouds are hanging low.
Today we want to drive close to the Bardenas Reales desert.
In Miranda del Ebro, with a little effort and incorrect GPS information, we find an LPG filling station and fill up our gas bottle. After 6.5 weeks, it's only the second one! A little later, our Pfüdi also receives a large portion of diesel for an incredible 1.17 euros.
Our chosen route also takes us past the Mirador Balcón de la Rioja. This tremendous view over square kilometres of vineyards is impressive.
Then it turns out that the parking spaces in beautiful towns such as Olite are full to bursting. We end up at the Pitillas lagoon and so far (9 p.m.) we are completely alone here. A few curious people come by now and then. But the bird watching is always done quickly.
