Wednesday, 09 August Week 01

On July 25th, our Pfüdi finally received a new shower tray under warranty. This is a known weak point in Carthago vehicles. The shower tray is prone to breaking, which is what happened to us too - just in time for the end of the warranty! Lucky for us!

Nothing stands in the way of your next trip.

Today, August 9th, is the day - we start shortly before 11am.

Well, in which direction?

Heat and forest fires in the south or persistent rain and floods in the north.

Wherever you go, the weather can only get better.

We dream of the Northern Lights and that sets the direction - north!

Since the weather is still rather poor today, we simply drive a little further than originally planned.

We land at the parking space in Treuchtlingen. Despite the high season, it is not full and also pleasantly quiet.

Thursday, August 10

After a quiet night, we set off and drive to Kirchenlamitz. Martina and Marcel opened a new parking space here in March 2023, which they built with a lot of sweat and passion. A great place that we are happy to recommend.

We explore the city with our e-bikes, ride out to the granite labyrinth and reserve a table for dinner at the Alte Wirtschaft inn on the Lamitz. Of course, we also walk around the beautiful city pond.

Back at Pfüdi we enjoy the sun, the peace and quiet and recover from the two days of driving.

Nothing is possible without a reservation, and we were lucky and got the last two available seats for the evening.

It was only 7.30pm but the wait was more than worth it - the food was fantastic!

Bright sunshine greets us this morning. Perfect weather for an e-bike tour.

But we take it easy. We sleep until just before eight and by the time we've finally had breakfast, washed up and done everything, it's almost 11 o'clock before we set off.

The first destination is the Kronberg. You can climb the tower and the view is wonderful.

To end the day, Martina and Marcel are having a barbecue at the Fichtelpark campsite. It's wonderful - and when the ice cream van arrives, the evening is perfect.

We arrive in Elsterberg at noon and are picked up by Bruno and Gisela.

We spend this wonderful summer day chatting, walking, eating, drinking and just being together. We don't see each other very often, but when we do, it's always lovely!

Today we are "moving" with our Pfüdi to Greiz to the parking space near the summer pool. Unfortunately, the annual summer festival took place there yesterday. Sleeping would have been out of the question.

Today we are standing here all alone and one thing is clear - the night was quiet.

It's not far from the parking spot to Bruno and Gisela. That's why we're taking the e-bikes today and Bruno is picking us up so that we don't get lost.

After the wonderful brunch we drive to the Zeulenroder Meer. We skip a swim in the sea and prefer to take a walk. A really beautiful area.

This day also goes by far too quickly. We are pampered all around and simply enjoy being together. Dear Gisela, dear Bruno, a big thank you to you. The four of us are a great example of how you can have a lovely, warm and intimate relationship despite great geographical distances. There is nothing like family.
