To the travel report week 1 05.July - 11.July

Sunday, July 5

Corona and some appointments have slowed us down so far! But now we have time to travel until the beginning of August.

A normal travel report? In this special year there is also a special travel report!

Our first stop is the brand new parking space in Altstätten SG. It's not finished yet, but it's been open since yesterday and we're the second guests!

The wonderful weather invites you to go on an e-bike tour.

The views of the Rhine Valley are great!

Monday, July 6

Half of the year is already over and we are leaving Switzerland for only the third time this year!

Our spontaneous destination today: Dinkelsbühl

A pretty town despite some construction sites.

And the nearby parking space also convinces us.

Tuesday, July 7

Our journey takes us to the Altmühl Valley.

We like the parking space in Treuchtlingen. We quickly found the ideal spot.

The Altmühl cycle path is well known, very well signposted and really beautiful.

We pass the castle of Pappenheim.

The views of the river are always beautiful and the bike traffic is limited.

We expected more.

Wednesday, July 8

Today’s e-bike tour takes us in the other direction to Gunzenhausen.

We reach the town exactly at lunchtime and after a short detour to the Altmühlsee we have earned our lunch.

Back in Treuchtlingen, it is

60 kilometers.

Thursday, July 9

We slide about 26 kilometers further downstream.

The parking space in Eichstätt also still has many free spaces at 11 a.m.

The beautiful old town is the ideal setting for our lunch.

We then burn the calories again on the beautiful bike path. We cycle westwards.

Friday, July 10

Today we explore the Altmühl Valley towards the east.

We turn around in Kipfenberg and the speedometer shows 56 kilometers again.

This morning we spontaneously decide to drive a few kilometers north. So for a long time the E39 and then the E6 are our roads. Actually a rather boring route. But who would have thought at the start of the day that we would see more moose than ever before on one of our trips to Scandinavia!

We see the first moose shortly after we set off!

Then comes moose number two...

Saturday, July 11

The place is very full. In view of this fact, we decide not to move on until tomorrow. The "weekenders" have to go home tomorrow.

Our fitness program today is short.

We only ride our bikes up to Willibaldsburg. There will be a lot of renovation work going on there over the next two years, so not the whole area is accessible. But the view is beautiful!

The rest of the day is spent lazing around, doing a little office work and doing a little laundry.
