After three nights on the parking lot in Eichstätt, we are moving on today. Hopefully there will be a free spot for us on the large parking lot in Riedenburg today (Sunday). We are there before 12 noon and it is still very full.
We park our Pfüdi under a few shady trees, unload the e-bikes and ride into town. We're hungry.
But oh dear, there's a lot going on. The restaurants are very busy. We manage to get a table, but the prospect of having to wait an hour for the food makes us leave quickly.
So we take the 20 kilometers to Kehlheim on our e-bikes.
And lo and behold - in Kehlheim we have more luck and enjoy a delicious pikeperch fillet at 2 p.m.
We're back around 4 p.m. and luck is on our side. The most beautiful corner of the square is just becoming free!
Re-parking is a breeze and we quickly settle in and enjoy the rest of the day and the evening with this wonderful view of the Main-Danube Canal.
Off to new shores. We have heard and read a lot about the Brombach lakes. So it's time to stop here for a bit.
We are driving an incredible 85 kilometers today!
The Absberg parking space has 500 spaces!
Luckily we don't have to rely on electricity. They are packed tightly together and the spaces are quite narrow.
We like it much better on the large and sparsely occupied meadow. And hardly anyone has a view of the lake here anyway!
Fitness is not a priority these days. There is just enough time to walk around the small Brombachsee. After 10 kilometers, you have done it all the way around.
Yes, and that's how you stand if you absolutely need electricity or like to stand next to each other.
Today we circle all three lakes - small Brombachsee, Igelsbachsee and large Brombachsee.
We're traveling a bit all over the place.
So today we gondola to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Since we arrive before noon, we can still choose our spot. By early evening the parking space is full.
We walk through the beautiful old town twice this afternoon.
This is not the first time we have been to this city.
Hansruedi used to come here from time to time for work reasons (probably over 20 years ago). But he never saw much of the old town. He was here to work.
Yes, and I accompanied him once. For one reason only. I was once the proud owner of a Ferrari red Toyota Celica.
Since we have a speed limit in Switzerland (130 km/h on motorways at the time), I wanted to know how fast my Celica really goes.
I took a special day off for this.
My beloved Celica reached a speed of just over 210 km/h - an incredible feeling, but also exhausting. Once was enough for me.
A rather cloudy and partly rainy day.
The ideal weather to travel a little further north.
Out of curiosity, we make a short detour to Neustadt an der Saal. The parking space there is only occupied by three motorhomes. But we continue on to Bad Salzungen.
Shortly before midday we still have plenty of space to choose from here at the motorhome parking area.
We find the ideal corner for us and make ourselves comfortable.
Later we go for a walk into the town and around the castle lake.
Fog in the morning but soon the sun wins and laughs from a cloudless sky.
Unfortunately, it doesn't stay that way. Most of the time, thick clouds accompany us on our e-bike tour.
70 kilometers, always uphill. That takes a lot of battery charge.
I admit that we are pretty exhausted in the evening, but we can enjoy another cloudless, sunny evening.
Yes, today is a special date. We should actually be in the northern Spreewald now. That would be the starting point of our guided trip to Belarus-Russia-Karelia. On August 19th we would have been in Kirkenes and would have taken plenty of time to travel home through Norway.
Now we are standing on the Werra and enjoying a hearty breakfast - thanks to Corona.
Today’s e-bike tour takes us to Vacha.
47 kilometers are enough for today.
The weather is better today.
Parking space Bad Salzungen from above.
