The wind has almost completely died down. It's getting hot on the island of Murter and mosquitoes are suddenly everywhere!
That was a catastrophic night for me (Heidi). Every two minutes one of these beasts was buzzing around my ears!
So now is exactly the right time to travel on. Today we will take the motorway for part of the journey. Only at Senj do we get back onto the coastal road. There is a lot of traffic here. v
We find that many motorhomes, caravans, buses and "Tätschbum" are on their way south, but more are heading north.
We leave Croatia and end today's driving day at the parking spot we know at Pension Patrick in Hrusica in Slovenia. The place is still perfect for an overnight stay.

The journey home continues. Since we don't feel like driving for hours on the motorway, we turn off towards Udine after about 50 kilometers. Great, there is immediately much less truck traffic and after another 50 kilometers we leave the motorway at Tolmezzo and chug west through the beautiful countryside to Misurina. Oops, there is a lot going on there. The motorhome parking space is almost half full with cars, as all the parking spaces are full. But we are lucky and find ONE free space.
We walk along the lake back to the "shopping mile".
We want to buy two things that we know from here: Grappa and non-slip warm winter socks.
In addition, winter finches and a Misurina dwarf end up in our shopping bag.
Back at the parking space, an ideal spot had just become available and we quickly moved our car and were really happy.
We enjoy the rest of the afternoon. After a short rain interlude, we can sit outside in the sun.
For dinner we have all the delicious things that we bought in the first supermarket in Italy.
Day route: Hrusica, Slovenia - Misurina, Italy
Distance: 245 km
Average consumption: 9.7 liters
Average speed: 57 km/h

We're already on our e-bikes at 7 a.m. and are cycling off. Our destination: Rifugio Auronzo at the foot of the Three Peaks. There isn't much traffic yet, just a few cars are already on the road, and we don't have any oncoming traffic at all.
Over 7 kilometers there are 650 meters of elevation, which means it is quite steep at times.
Once we reach the top, we first enjoy the beautiful view.
Many people have spent the night up here. But the motorhomes are clearly in the minority. Buses, vans, roof sleepers, car sleepers and off-roaders are clearly in the majority and there are quite a few of them.
The toll for motorhomes and all vehicles over 2.10 meters high is 45 euros.
Previously (2008) the ticket was valid until the next day without a time limit and cost 30 euros.
Today, the day ticket is only valid until midnight. If you go up after 7 p.m. and go back down before midnight the next day, you only pay for one day, otherwise you'll have to pay 90 euros!
When we get back down to the toll booth, we are amazed. The line in front of the ticket office is already over 100 meters long.
We now have a leisurely breakfast. At 9.30 a.m. we see the police putting up a driving ban because all of the 480 free parking spaces are already taken. A little chaos immediately ensues and by the time we leave the cars are already backed up to the main road.
There is a lot of traffic on our route to Brixen, Bozen, Merano and finally Glurns. Fortunately, there is always a little more oncoming traffic.
We stop in Glurns. We later regret it a little because it is very hot and there is no room left in the restaurant. It would be a little cooler in the Engadin but also more expensive.
Day route: Misurina, Italy - Glurns
Distance: 200 km
Average consumption: 7.5 liters
Average speed: 57 km/h
Travel time: 3 hours 26 minutes
Pitch costs: Pitch at Camping Gloria Vallis, 25 euros including water/supply, including electricity

Well, today we only have the journey home on our agenda. Shortly after lunch the time has come - we arrive in Flims.
This last leg is always special. Our thoughts are still on the trip. We often draw up a summary on the last leg. What were our highlights, where were the low points?
But we really look forward to going home every time. The first shower in our own bathroom is always a special highlight. Our bathroom is really not very big, but after 10 weeks of travelling in the Pfüdi it always seems almost huge to us ;-)
But in the back of your mind you also have the work that awaits you every time.
In this beautiful weather, the terrace is the first thing that needs an intensive cleaning with the Kärcher. And only when that is done will we definitely have arrived home.
Sitting outside and toasting a beautiful and accident-free trip with a glass of wine - wonderful.
The total was 7,564 kilometers through Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Greece.
Interesting, exciting, challenging, annoying, beautiful, wonderful, eventful, sunny, rainy kilometers - every single one was more than worth it.
On our trips we always have a daily budget of CHF 110.00. The daily expenses are divided into a
Entered in an Excel table. (Hansruedi does this perfectly) So everything is included - diesel, LPG, AdBlue, overnight costs, eating out, shopping, souvenirs, tolls, entrance fees, etc. etc.
Even on this trip to the south we have well over CHF 1,000.00 left!
Hmmm, you could spend that extra on your next trip! The next trip is sure to come - and maybe it will be a bit more expensive.
Where could it go? I have ideas in my head - let's see!
We wish all readers a wonderful, great summer. Come back soon. At some point in August our ideas will be more concrete and we will start again.
Daily route: Glurns - Flims
Distance: 174 km
Average consumption: 10.5 liters
Average speed: 47 km/h
