Today we are riding our e-bikes to Malaga. The cycle path always runs along the sea, there is a light wind blowing, so it is very pleasant. For 20 kilometers there are mostly houses, restaurants and shops on the right and the sea on the left with sometimes more, sometimes fewer people on the beach. There is a lot to see, and always some great views. We visited the city center of Malaga in 2016, today we are limiting ourselves to the harbor area. Here, too, there is one restaurant after the other and we choose one at random for our lunch. On the way back there is an ice cream stop and finally a swim in the sea before we return to our parking spot. An all-round successful day. The crowds from Sunday are history, some restaurants were packed with locals today too. The full ones are actually usually the best, but we decided to go to a less crowded one - Corona is still here.

It can happen so quickly - you miss a turn and you're stuck in the middle of the narrow streets of Malaga. You have to keep your nerve (Hansruedi is very good at this), don't blindly trust the GPS, follow the suggested route on the tablet and, if necessary, work to the millimeter.
We make it and immediately find ourselves in the middle of the incredible landscape and vastness of Spain.
This vastness is difficult to describe, I think you have to experience it yourself. Antequera is just the right place for our lunch. The Mirador restaurant sounds very good. There is a view from the car park, and the restaurant terrace has a great view of the car park. But what the heck, we are hungry.
El Chorro is our second sticking point of the day. Impossibly parked cars force us to reverse in this small village. Of course, lots of cars are coming from behind. But we manage that too and change our route, as we can't get through this village.
We continue through a beautiful landscape, sometimes our eyes are almost overwhelmed. Finally we end up at the campsite in Ronda. A jump into the pool is just the thing now.
Today was our hottest day and we spent quite a long time in the car (at least the temperatures are pleasant then). The evening is nice and warm so we quickly unload our e-bikes and enjoy Ronda in the evening light. The exercise does us a lot of good after sitting for so long. The pictures of Ronda will follow tomorrow.

We read it in the media - there is a rage in Spain.
We can confirm that. In any case, it is like that in many places on the coast. The campsites and parking spaces are very, very full and the prices have risen rapidly. The lonely free parking spaces are rare, after all, even the locals know about them.
We enjoyed the detour through the interior of the country. But it's supposed to get even hotter there in the next few days. So we move on and today we reach the southernmost point of our trip - Tarifa. A beautiful viewpoint awaits us at the Torre de la Peña campsite. Tarifa is a popular hotspot for kite surfers. The entrance to the sea at our campsite is very rocky, which means it's not child-friendly at all. This increases the chance of getting a nice pitch. And as you can see - we were just that lucky.

A storm is forecast here in Tarifa today. It is already blowing hard in the morning. We are also standing in the blazing sun. It is not ideal for cycling here either. We decide to head north and turn our backs on the coast here in the south. It is a hot day, very hot. We spend it in the car and drive as far as possible. Northern Spain, with its hopefully more pleasant temperatures, awaits us. The landscape passes by us all day. A little exhausted, we reach the Monfraque campsite at 6:15 p.m., just before the vulture nature park of the same name. The site is almost empty, but it offers shade.

Today we drive a few more kilometers north. Shopping at Mercadona and Carrefour is a bit nerve-wracking. Then the landscape passes us by again. We are pleased to see that the temperature does not rise above 30 degrees.
Today we reach our intended destination at around 3 p.m. and lo and behold, it is a direct hit.
A natural pool has been built by a small river, it's really beautifully done and wonderfully refreshing. There are a few Spanish motorhomes there, we are the only foreign tourists. You are officially allowed to park here and spend the night, and the best thing is - there is shade.
After the long journeys of the last two days, we are enjoying this afternoon to the fullest.
Since the humidity has decreased dramatically, it is really pleasant and there is always a light breeze blowing.
Just lovely!

Our approximate destination for today - Lago de Sanabria. Since we don't yet know exactly where we'll be staying, the first thing we do is look for a waste disposal station. The drive there is simply beautiful. Little traffic and a few pretty little villages, some of which have narrow passages.
Lago de Sanabria - one of the largest natural lakes in Spain and also a nature park. Oops, just the right destination for a Sunday. The crowds of people are streaming to the lake in their cars. Well, the parking lot we were aiming for is already hopelessly overcrowded. But there is also a campsite there. Lots of tents, lots of permanent campers, only a few motorhomes and 2.3 caravans. However, we find a corner that suits us and settle in. A walk to the lake, but there are definitely too many people in too small a space. So we go back and enjoy a little siesta. At around 4 p.m. we ride our e-bikes up to the Laguna de los Pecas. 700 meters above sea level with wonderful views, hardly any traffic and hardly any people at the lake either. After the rapid descent we enjoy the evening.
It doesn't surprise us that Spain is also reporting rapidly rising corona numbers again. Some of the things we are observing are making us think. In any case, we used our shower in the Pfüdi again today and felt very comfortable with it.
